I've got an old F828 (old for a digicam, two+ years) and I now understand what is wrong with all my pictures that I take in shade or in overcast conditions with fill flash. When you turn the flah on the camera automatically switches to the "flash" white balance setting. Normally, this is ok, in direct sunlight or indoors when the flash is the pirmary light source exposing the picture. But outdoors in shade or on an overcast day this makes the pictures turn blue. I'd normally switch to the "cloudy" white balance setting, but this isn't available with the flash on. Only options are "flash" and "auto" which give the same kelvin value of "flash" when the flash is on. It wouldn't be too much of a problem if I shot them in RAW but this camera's RAW performance is pretty bad. 10sec camera lock up and massive file sizes.

Anyway, just thought I'd vent my frustrations....
