Buying first DSLR
So I'm looking at buying my first DSLR camera. I've narrowed it down to two selections in my price range, but unsure as to which is the better deal. The first is a Nikon D60 with a 18-55mm lens and 10.2mp. The second is a Pentax K2000 10.2mp with a 18-55mm and a 50-200mm lens. Both cost $550 (although the Pentx is on sale from originally $650). I know that Nikon is a reliable and trusted brand, but I don't know much about Pentax. So I am curious as to which is the better buy? Any input would be great. Thanks.

Re: Buying first DSLR
Hello awwheatley. Buying a slr is an exciting step. I am not to familiar with both cameras you listed but I can say this. Just remember that when you buy a DSLR your buying a system, which means all lenses will only work for the brand of your camera. I believe the Pentax K2000 is geared more to beginners, I think it has a dedicated help button to help you get through all the technical stuff. However I think you will be happy with any camera you choose. Best of luck....
