    brand new and need info

    Hi,
I'm Sadie. I just ordered a digital camera to take on vacation in July. It's a Fuji S700 7MP digital camera with 10x zoom and Fujinon Lens, it also takes videos.
I don't understand about the memory cards, what size to buy or XD or S.
I wondered it there was a book for dummies or a place I can learn about what the different terminology means. Any help you all can give me would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Both XD and SD will work in that camera from what I read, it doesnt really matter which you get.

For most users, a 1gb card would be big enough, but since flash memory is so cheap nowadays, I'd go ahead and buy a 2gb card, such as this one for $30 or this one for $17, the difference between the two is just that the $30 one is faster.

It's also nice to have a $3 reader to plug into your usb port if you dont already have one.

As for learning the terminology, there's lots of online FAQs and resources, this site has a great community and we're more than willing to help out.

Heh, I even wrote up a little article for my website, still working on it.

When you want to load your pics onto your computer a reader is a device to plug into a usb port and insert your card into it to load your pics. Usually a lot faster than loading directly from camera.

    Sadie,

I would get 2 x 1Gb cards rather than a single 2Gb card. This means that it one gets lost or corrupted you don't loose all the photos.
