blind camera
any inputs about this matter is trully helpful. my canon powershot a60 just won't take any more pics. its been working great, taking great pics for 2 years but it just recenctly went bonkers. the camera turns on normally, i can view the previous pics stored in the CF card and all the menus work. the problem is when i turn on the camera, the LCD just shows a blank screen and when i try to take a picture, all it gets is a black pic. its like my camera just went blind. i'm planning to replace my camera but i'm quite hesitant of getting another canon since i'm not sure if this problem is widespread among their products. their costumer service has been totally of no help to me. has anybody ever have the same problem as mine? and what's the e18 error? thanks?

Bummer
Sounds like it' probably time to buy a new camera. The cost of reparing a compact digital camera usually makes buying a new one the best thing to do. I haven't heard of the problem you're having with other Canon cameras. The reality with digital cameras is there's tons of electronics in them and they're somewhat disposable. I wish they were as strong and reliable as cell phones. Seems reasonable to me.
Have you checked the Canon A60 reviews here to see if anyone else reports the same problem? Here's a link to that review page. You should add your own review, too: http://www.photographyreview.com/cat...6_3073crx.aspx
