Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1: Dust on the lens

    Hi,

I have a problem with my Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1 compact camera: Suddenly, some dust appeared somewhere inside on the lens. At least that's what I assume. When zooming, several dark spots appear on the picture. See the attached picture. Without zooming, they do not show up, but they gradually appear when zooming. There is no dust on the outside of the lens. It must be somewhere inside.

Any suggestions what I could do to solve this problem? I tried blowing into the lens somehow to get the dust out, but it did not work. I am currently traveling and my means are somewhat limited.

    Cheers,
    Tobias

If it was a dslr, I would say it was sensor dust.
Do you see them through the viewfinder when you zoom.

How did you blow inside the lens if it isn't removable?
In post editing with photoshop, you can get rid of them pretty easy by using the spot healing tool.

Re: Sony Cybershot DSC-WX1: Dust on the lens

    Thanks for your help!

Yes, I see the spots in the viewfinder in exactly the same way as they appear on the final photograph.

I blew onto the lens from the outside thinking that it could maybe remove the dust on the inside. Don't know whether that's a good thing to do... It had the effect of condensed water inside on the lense, which resulted in a blurry picture. This condensed water luckily disappeared again after a few minutes. The spots slightly changed their position but they were still there.

So, it looks like I have to live with those spots and have to remove them by post editing.
