Any solution possible?

Here is my problem.
Brand new cx6445 kodak digital camera. In the process of first using it, it simply shut off and would not turn back on. The shutter is still open.
I have tried replacing the batteries on several occasion and that doesnt seem to have anything to do with it.

At no point did I cause any form of physical damage to the camera.

Can anyone help?

Sounds like a dead camera, you need to return it to the place of purchase and get a replacement as soon as possible.

Have you tried turning it on, hooked up to an AC cord of any kind?
