    another "which camera" post
    hi everyone.

i am a pro videographer, and contrary to most peoples thoughts, not all (if any) videographers are also photographers as well. like myself, most use a pro photographer to take the still photos as part of a videography packages for clients, especially filming weddings etc as we with the camcorder dont get time to snap stills as well, and up till now i have had no interest in still photography, now i want to start.

ok, ive been reading all the camera reviews and i wont mess about here with factors like money etc, if im going to do this, i want to get the right gear from scratch.

    1. i was thinking digital SLR
    2. my decision will not be based on cost alone, i want the best "all round" package for what im about to pay, and in videography, most expensive is def not the best, i run all panasonic dv camcorders xcept my main camcorder is now the new canon XL-2. panasonic lead the field when it comes to best features and value for money in camcorders (sony has absolutely been knocked off thier perch these days, its a race now between canon and panasonic for the top spot, and sony is way over priced for the value u get in my opinion)
i have not seen any panasonic digital slr cameras mentioned in the reviews ive seen, so this is where your thoughts come in to play.
    3. i want the camera to use for portrait, weddings, sport and nature (an all rounder i guess)
    4. must be able to produce enlarged images up to approx 16"-18"
    5. able to shoot in both outdoors and indoors, plus good low light ability too.

heres a few choices (not in order of choice btw) and all have very different pricing, but im open to other suggestions here......thanks in advance everyone....GLEN

    1. canon EOS 1Ds $8000
    2. canon EOS 1 Ds mark II $7500
    3. canon EOS 1 D mark II $4500
    4. konica-minalta maxxum 7D $1500
    5. nikon D1H $4200
    6. sigma SD9 or SD10 $1500+
    7. kodak DCS Pro 14n $5000

Don't forget the Canon 20D and the Nikon D70...they are probably both better than the Sigmas, and at least as good, if not better than the KM, for less money...
