Affordable Highspeed Camera?

I have always wanted a Highspeed camera but it is almost impossible to find them anywhere or let alone ever see any prices and when I finally do find a price its a hundred thougsand million dollars. I was wondering if there was any affordable high fps digital cameras thanks.

I guess 200+ frames would be the minimum and a max of 400*400 would also be minimum. The price range I am hoping for is somewhere around 1000$ which will most likely never happen :) It's just I have nothing to ball my price range around.

The Casio Exilim Pro EX-F1 is the only camera that I can think of.

Wow, 60 fps. And I thought 5 fps was pretty fast. What type of photography would require that many frames per second? Certainly, somthing specialized.

The Casio Exilim Pro EX-F1 can record video at an astounding 1200fps. You read that correctly. At that speed, you can watch the latex slowly peel back from a water balloon as it explodes. You can see the cork twirl across a room as it leaves a bottle of champagne.

Geeze, 1200fps - that's just insane... if you're not doing some sort of research, I can't imagine something that fast being useful after the novelty wore off. You'd have absolutely massive files for just a few seconds of video.

Not that it wouldn't be really cool though...

There are many specialist high speed motion analysis cameras capable of around 400fps for sustained periods. Some even a point and shoot packages (some P&S!) with no special setup or computer interface.

Slit camera?
I was doing that over 30 years ago.

It's exactly what I used for photo-finish cameras, at the local dog track.
We had an expected finish speed, depending on the length of the race, the class of dogs, etc.
And adjusted film speed a few percent for the top class races.

For us, the compression/elongation didn't matter as the relative distance between dog's noses was the key :)

Awesome I've been hearing about that, I didn't know it had a hi-speed mode! Welp looks like i'm gonna buy it when it comes out at the end of this month, unless someone knows another affordable hi-speed camera (video camera)

what memory cards do you guys recomend I'm gonna need as much memory as possible it supposublly supports SDHC Memory Card, SD Memory Card, MultiMediaCard, MultiMediaCard plus compatible according to the link above what should I get and does write speed matter for something like a camera? Since it's going to be hi-def.

A multimedia card that i m using for the same Casio camera is best one i think.
But how much memory do you require? I mean what is your required limit?
