Anyone see this? Is this thing for real?

Yes they are. The NEX7 is expected this fall with an EVF. If you want some English.

That's intriguing. And me just having bought a GF1. I think I'll enjoy the GF1 though.

The earlier pre-production tests are not real encouraging about the overall image quality.

However 720p video may catch several users attention plus that funky Sony sweep panorama capability.

The pancake lens looks interesting, but with that larger sensor most lens sizes could overwhelm the tiny body.

Funky design but I wish my EP-1 had a nice grip like these. Function before beauty.

Sony do ergonomics well, I really liked the feel of the Alpha 850.

My local pro dealer is having an open day June 5 to get hands on the camera.
They're one of the first to sell it in the UK and are taking pre-orders now.
If it overcomes the limitations of the E-P1 that I don't like, I may pass the E-P1 onto Angie and try the Sony.

    Paul,

I look forward to your thoughts on the camera. It's quite interesting, but missing IBIS, flash, etc. - some things I prefer - although these are features that are purely subjective. It looks like the price will be right, too. I love it that the prices are coming down on these - and other cameras now that so many options are on the table - and lots of competition.

Isn't it wonderful when you can pass a nice camera on to someone who will enjoy it? I took a very big loss on my Rebel 400 as I sold it to a good friend's daughter who is in college and desparately wanted a dslr but couldn't afford it. I had to get something for it toward the PEN, so sold it for what she could afford to pay within her budget. She LOVES the camera - and this past year has used it so much. I'm so happy that we made this good deal.

    Liz
