Olympus Pen Firmware Update
Olympus announced a firmware update for the E-P1, E-P2 and E-PL1. It's mostly to improve auto focus performance, but it does a couple of other things as well.

Looking forward to the new lenses, too!
Re: Olympus Pen Firmware Update
I actually just ran the upgrade on my e-p1 with the stock 14-42 lens (I really need to get a prime for it!).

Did you see a noticeable improvement in auto focus behaviour?
Re: Olympus Pen Firmware Update
Yeah there was actually! Slight, but there.

Alex - how did you do this? Olympus website states it is not available until April 22? Did something change? If so, where did you find the link?
Or did you do the previous upgrade???
Thanks!
Re: Olympus Pen Firmware Update
I got it here: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_se...ct_penfirmware
Then yes, I got the previous upgrade :P
Re: Olympus Pen Firmware Update
I just updated my EP-1 without any problems and yes the AF seems to be faster. I am glad now I can update without using Olympus Master. The download is sweet. Thanks for posting John.
Re: Olympus Pen Firmware Update
I upgraded to the new firmware, and noticed today that performance with the Panasonic 45-200 appears far worse.
I wonder if the software favours the Olympus lenses?

I guess there is no going back.
Re: Olympus Pen Firmware Update
Okay, got the proper upgrade now. Yes, I noticed an improvement in the AF speed on the 14-42.

Wasn't the opposite true? I mean, the Olympus lenses performed poorly on Panasonic cameras? Could we have a behind-the-scenes AF performance battle happening between the two companies?
