Re: Leica Mirrorless Rumor
I would think that if Leica made a sub-$1k camera they would seriously dilute the exclusivity of the brand which is why they can sell $10k cameras. – Terry

I think you're right. So what would be a good price point for them? And what would you be willing to pay - if anything?

I would have little, if any, interest in a Leica unless it was something with a larger than FF sensor at a reasonable price. (Reasonable being something like less than double the current lowest price FF offering.) – Terry
Re: Leica Mirrorless Rumor
I can only afford 20-40 year old Leicas. So no. It was tried if you recall when Leica made a copy of the Panasonic L1 at a huge price cause of the lens. I would really like an M9. But at their price even with a half off sale with a 10% senior discount I couldn't get one
Re: Leica Mirrorless Rumor
Besides, I thought Leicas were already considered mirrorless. Unless you are talking about an R mount camera.

Now I know you didn't read my article. And I worked so hard on it! :)
Re: Leica Mirrorless Rumor
Sorry John. I read it but was still unclear about the M9. Does it have LV like the others or is it a true RF or both? Is a m4/3rd kind of considered an RF? With a VF attached just what is it? I didn't read the original rumor and weather it was about an R mount.
Not to get off of the subject but I was suprised when Leica came out with the M8. I thought Leica was all about tradition and cameras for a life time. I just don't think their digital offerings will ever hold their value or last a lifetime like the film cameras. My M6 is basically worth the same as it was when I bought it. I don't know of any other camera that holds it's value like that. But like you I would love to have an M9.
