Easter Video - Olympus E-PL1
I put together a video of my Easter Sunday. This was all shot with the Olympus E-PL1.

Re: Easter Video - Olympus E-PL1
Nice video John. When I bought my EP1 I looked at getting the EPL1 but the lack of manual controls made me go against it.

You mean manual control dials, right? Because it has all the manual exposure controls the other cameras have. You just have to access them in a more point-and-shoot manner.
Re: Easter Video - Olympus E-PL1
Yes John I was refering to the manual exposure settings. I have my EP-1 set up so the upper dial sets shutter speed the rotating dail sets aperture and I actually focus with the AFL/AEL button. That way I can pre focus when trying street stuff.

John,
Your video looks fine to me. I've never been interested in video - but maybe I will give it a shot after seeing this one. Did you use IS with video? Probably not.....stupid question.
One question. In the first minute or so there was a kind of background "buzz" that disappeared and didn't return??
Thanks for posting. Great clarity btw.

Yeah, Paul got it.
Yes Liz, I did use IS. But movement becomes really obvious with video. IS that works for shooting stills doesn't even come close to minimizing movement in video. You really need to use a tripod for video. But I'm not ready to start carrying around a tripod when I'm skiing. I was using the E-PL1 on Easter to give my legs and back a rest after packing the Canon EOS-1D Mk IV most of the time. Adding a tripod to my pack kind of defeats the purpose :)
Re: Easter Video - Olympus E-PL1
I suppose a steadicam was out of the question then :)
