Hey Anbesol, I have tried to do macro's of a couple of things and haven't been able to get a "good" shot. I will practice more and see what happens. I just was looking and seen the teleconverter, and that was when the question came up.

well, in slr lenses standard macros come anywhere between 100 and 250mm focal ranges, that s1 is has a 432 equivalent, thats why im shocked. plus, the teleconverter would slow your lens down significantly, and when shutter speed is paramount in taking a crisp clean macro shot, thats something you could seriously do without. When you try your shots, are you zooming in on a shot, or are you converting to wide and getting closer? i would try taking the macro shots in wide if youre not allready, youd have much better luck that way.
Re: Teleconverter For S1 IS
Anbesol, I have tried zooming in and didn't have too much luck. I just started in wide and just getting close, so I'm shooting that way to see how it goes. Thanks for the help.
Re: Teleconverter For S1 IS
ah - well that may have been the case, how are you doing now?
Re: Teleconverter For S1 IS
It's getting better but I was out of town last week so I hope to take more shots by the weekend. ( still learning ) The one thing that I did notice is that I should press the shutter button down a lot quicker, since sometimes it will try to focus and then become blurry. practice, practice, practice.....
Re: Teleconverter For S1 IS
at close ranges the focus is incredibly sensitive so it takes a very steady hand.... keep practicing though! Macro's are a lot of fun!
Re: Teleconverter For S1 IS
Thanks Anbesol, I will try to keep a steady hand and if not I will try with the tripod. All I have to do now is practice, practice, practice...
