    New Canon EOS T3i / 600D
    My announcement article and analysis of the new Canon EOS Rebel T3i / 600D digital SLR is posted. The basic performance specs are the same as the T2i / 550D but the T3i now has a tilt-swivel LCD like the EOS 60D. I think this is a really big deal as I use a tilt-swivel LCD all the time - if my camera has one. It's a serious back and knee -saver when I'm shooting camera equipment in the studio.

    Aside from the new LCD, Canon added some new entry-level ease-of-use features that beginners will appreciate. For a lot more detail, here's my article:

    I have to admit, I find this camera very tempting. My current backup is an XSi and I'd love to have a Canon digital SLR with a tilt-swivel LCD for the studio. I was also interested in the EOS 60D because of the tilt-swivel LCD, but the price made it hard for me to justify. The T3i's $800 price tag is a lot more realistic for me for a backup and studio body.

    Sucks for us that just purchased the T2i.....but if the highlighted difference is only the LCD swivel, then I won't be so sad....lol

    Unless you're a beginner, the main thing is the tilt-swivel LCD. The T3i also has built-in wireless flash control. But unless it's a lot better than the 7D's wireless flash, which didn't impress me at all, you aren't missing anything there. Sensor, video specs, burst and auto focus are all the same as your T2i. So there's no real need for you to feel like you missed out. On the other hand, photographers looking for a second body, their first digital SLR or upgrading from 2 or 3 generations back, should give this one a close look.
