high capacity SD cards for A540?

What's the highest capacity SD cards that can be used with the Canon Powershot A540? I've so far found the ff. info:

- Canon website: no info on max capacity that can be used
- a couple of digicam review sites: say 2GB is max
- SanDisk website: says their 4GB SDHC cards are compatible

The last one above sounds good but I'm a bit wary of SanDisk's claims since it's in their interest to sell their memory cards

Anybody out there with real-world experience with using >2GB cards? (I want to maximize my A540's movie capabilities).

if sandisk says it, then you can always buy it and if it doesn't work just complain to them. but sandisk is very reputable, so I would say they are probably correct.

I finally contacted SanDisk and they gave this reply:

The product compatibility suggestion is more accurate if provided by Digital Camera specialist. The cards are listed on the Sandisk Website may work, but it will not perform the best result. I would advise you to purchase a card less than 2GB to insure the quality of production.
