    canon 40d question

when i push the shutter button on my 40d, no image appears in the viewing window. it seems as if the camera is ready to take another photo. i cannot see the image i took until i shut the camera down and restart it. no error messages have appeared. anyone know what could be wrong. i am not all that knowledgeable about the camera so any help would be appreciated. thanks.

That doesn't sound right at all. Have you tried pressing the info button to make sure that it's set to display the review screen after you take a picture?

Sounds like the "review" is set to off. If you hit the Menu button, go to Review in the fist menu. There you can select how long you want the image to stay on the LCD screen after you take the photo.

Try reseting the camera if nothing else works.

Image Review time can be set to off. Other choices are 2, 4, or 8 seconds, or Hold, which I assume means leave it on until you say different.
