Just a quick tip:
If you wish to have a 2 second timer with your Canon DSLR, be it for macro, night photos, or bracketing to reduce blur or have 2 seconds to pose, try this:
Under Menu and the Wrench/Hammer tab #2, go to Custom Functions (C. Fn) and move over to "Mirror Lockup" enable it.
Then go back to shooting mode and turn on the timer/remote shooting mode. Now when you press the shutter button, instead of a 10 second countdown, the camera will click (mirror going up before shutter opened), and then another click when the picture is taken 2 seconds later.
Hope this helps, took me a while to figure it out.
