    Help A Newbie

    Hi all
I just got a Canon Rebel XT from Christmas. It came with a 18-55 lense and I would lke to get a bigger zoom for it but I dont know which to get for my price range, wich is not much at the moment. I have a buget of $ 140 to $150. I found a 28-105 at Amazon for $122 . It got some good reviews & some bad. Can anyone give me some advice on wich zoom to buy and where from?
    Thanks

The 28-105 is a very good lens for the price. And $122 is a VERY good price!

I checked Amazon and the least expensive 28-105 is $199 - here is the link to the page where I found it. Are you sure you were looking at the right lens? Can you post the link to the lens you found there - just so we're talking about the same lens?

Sorry , With all of the different site's and different lens I got it mixed up.
    I actually meant a 75-300 for $119.00
I went to my local shop today and looked at it. It wasent to shabby . I thought the build qty was a little low but what do I know. The sales man said it was a very good 2nd lens for the beginner. What do you think? http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/it...=10-63414522-2

One review site just tore it up ,saying it was mediocre at best.

Here is a link with 42 reviews on this lens, from Amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/Canon-75-300mm...0268450&sr=8-4 I feel, you'll get what you pay for, but if that is what your budget allows and you can't foresee any extra bucks coming in for quite some time, what the heck. Also, if you buy from a reputable source, they'll usually let you return the product, if you're dissatisfied, up to 15 or 30 days.

Or, you could save up for a real good zoom with IS.
