    Got Tilt-Shift?
You could spend $1500 (or so) for a sweet tilt-shift lens to get this toy village effect. Or you could buy the Canon PowerShot SD4500 IS I'm currently testing. It has a "Miniature Effect" scene mode I used to shoot this photo. It's easy sleazy cheesy toy village action for the common man!

Pretty cool. The T/S miniature thing seemed to be pretty popular there for a while. Can you use this effect while shooting video?

Yeah, I'm not actually into the tilt-shift thing. I guess I'm kind of a snob and think tilt-shift lenses should be used for architectural and product photography. But what do I know? There are lots of editorial and "lifestyle" photographers making money with them right now.

To answer your video question - yes, the SD4500 IS does have a "Miniature" video scene mode :)

I'm not that into either. I think it's kind or neat to see once in a while, but not something I would buy a specific camera, or lens to try to create myself.
