6.5fps from Canon 50D

I feel really stupid. I cant seem to get the 6.5fps on my 50D. Can someone please help me? I do use a UDMA CF.

I shoot in Av mode but usually it is 800 or higher

Everything has to be perect to get the max fps - mostly shutter speed and auto-focus. Actually, it probably won't hit max fps under normal conditions in AF - try it in manual focus. - Terry

Do you have it set to high speed continuous (6.5fps) or low speed continuous (3fps)? Your 50D has 2 separate modes for continuous shooting. If you have it set to high, you should be able to get the 6.5fps.

Another issue could be your AF mode. If you are using something besides one shot AF or manual focus, your camera could be preventing the next shot until it achieves focus.
