If you don't have any good lenses then I would recommend spending less on the body so you can invest in good glass. If this is a none issue then get the t2i. What negative things have you heard anyway?

    Video?

Is video important to you? Because if it is, then I'd definitely go with the T2i. But if it isn't, then I'd steer you away from both. With either of those cameras you're paying something of a premium for video features. If that isn't something you care about, then see of you can find the XSi. It's a great little camera and it will save you some money you can use on a better lens. What is it that you plan to be shooting, anway? What kind of outdoor photography?

Like Poker, I'm also curious about what negative things you've heard about the T2i. Everything I see is raving about the camera.

"IF" you're interested in the XSi both B&H and Amazon have it for approximately $550 including the 18-55IS lens.

    That's a great deal!

For what it's worth, I have an XSi and I've used it for sports as well as most of the product photos you see in the pro reviews on this site. It think it's a fine camera.
