USB Memory Swiss Army Knife - Press Release
SWISSMEMORY® USB Storage in a VICTORINOX Pocket Knife

Together with the Swiss data storage specialists at Swissbit AG, the renowned manufacturer of the Swiss Army Knife, VICTORINOX, developed SWISSMEMORY® for computer users on the move. Modern, traditional and Made in Switzerland.

It is the first time that an original Swiss Army Knife has been equipped with a USB Memory. The SWISSMEMORY® USB is a trendy accessory, a perfect gift and business tool. The small all-rounder integrates numerous useful tools and is available in two versions: one with a stainless steel blade, scissors, a nail file with screwdriver, a ballpoint pen and a red light. The Air Travel version includes a red LED light and a ballpoint pen only and is especially aimed at people who like to work in the airplane while travelling.

Available with a memory capacity of 64 MB, the SWISSMEMORY® USB enables the storage of data of any kind – business cards, family or business project, photos, mp3 audio files, video files and presentations – and can be used with any USB* connection. LED lights signalise if the memory is currently being written to or read from.

Equipped with flash technology, the memory is independent from your computer’s hard drive and the data remains permanently in the memory, but it is possible to delete or enter data as desired. Real gold plated contacts insure outstanding dataflow.

SWISSMEMORY® USB is compatible with Windows, Mac OS and Linux, and is recognised as an external memory medium.

For use with Windows 98/SE and Mac OS 8.6 there are drivers. To prevent unauthorised data access, the memorised data or parts of it may be secured with the SecureLOCK Software. It is also possible to boot from the stick, if the computer and BIOS* allow it.

It is also possible to detach the USB part – a patented technology allows it – from the main body to facilitate data exchange, to upgrade the device to another capacity or as security measure while travelling by plane.
