SanDisk CompactFlash Card Bombproof - Press Release

Alright, I embelished a little. But SanDisk has posted a press release about one of their CompactFlash cards and a bridge demolition shoot that's very interesting. Basically, the camera gets blown to hell but the SanDisk CompactFlash card and the file it captured survive. And there are photos to prove it!

And people look at me weird when I tell them I keep CF cards in my pockets.

"But they could get damaged!!"

BTW, all CF cards are pretty much equally as tough, with the exception of some ruggedized ones where different manufacturing methods are used to increase damage resistance, so don't be judging your next CF card purchase based on this one freak incident.

And no, I'm not biased against SanDisk, 60% of my CF cards are made by them, just trying to be a bit level-headed. :)
