PMA 2005: Kodak Expands Innovative Picture Printing Technologies, Develops New Services to Help Consumers Get Real KODAK Pictures

KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology Now Available In-Store, At Home, Online; Company Unveils Wide Range of Professional and Consumer Photography Offerings

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 19, 2005--Eastman Kodak Company announced today the expansion of KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology -- which automatically improves poorly exposed or backlit pictures when printed -- to retail, home and online digital printing systems worldwide.

Previously offered only via off-site lab processing, KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology will now be available in KODAK Picture Maker kiosks and new KODAK Picture Kiosks, new DLS minilabs for in-store digital printing, the KODAK EASYSHARE Printer Dock Plus, and the KODAK EASYSHARE Gallery (formerly Ofoto).

"We are taking one of our most significant innovations in image science -- KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology -- and applying it across our portfolio to provide high quality digital pictures to consumers," said Bernard Masson, president, Digital & Film Imaging Systems; and senior vice president, Eastman Kodak Company. "Kodak is committed to providing the best possible quality at retail, online, and at home. With KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology, we are making it as easy as possible for people to enjoy and share both once-in-a-lifetime and everyday moments through real KODAK pictures."

KODAK Innovations on Display

As the Photo Marketing Association International convention and trade show opens, Kodak is also showcasing multiple new innovative products and services to help people enjoy their pictures anytime, anywhere:
  • Services to help consumers upload their digital images via the Web -- either on retailer Web sites or the KODAK EASYSHARE Gallery -- and then pick up real KODAK pictures at local retail stores for maximum convenience.
  • The KODAK Picture Kiosk, a pedestal-style digital picture printing system that has a significantly smaller footprint and weight than current kiosks, making it ideal for non-traditional retail channels.
  • The KODAK PROFESSIONAL 9810 Digital Photo Printer and KODAK Photo Printer 6850, designed for event and professional photographers who need to deliver durable, high-quality prints immediately at the studio or on location.
  • The revolutionary KODAK EASYSHARE-ONE digital camera, which lets people wirelessly e-mail pictures to friends around the globe, as well as new EASYSHARE Z7590, Z730, C340 and C300 digital cameras.
  • The EASYSHARE Printer Dock Series 3, which can make real KODAK pictures at home in seconds -- at the touch of a single button -- when used with cameras compatible with the new IMAGELINK print system.
Continuing to demonstrate strong results against its digital strategy, Kodak now has the market lead in four major United States consumer digital photography segments: digital cameras, snapshot photo printers, retail photo kiosks, and online picture sharing sites.
