Gordon Parks - 1912-2006 R.I.P.

One time LIFE photographer and Hollywood's first black director died March 7, 2006.

Oh - thanks! Thanks for reminding me. I will post something on the news forum. One of the first photo books I ever owned was of early Gordon Parks work.

Thanks for posting this. I meant to a couple of days ago, but forgot. While probably most famous in mainstream America for his SHAFT movies, Parks was a photographer of great vision, and a trendsetter in several fields...
