I agree. You have a nice setup already and I don't think that the D750 would really be much better. But it would certainly be bigger.

I'm just churning through the last two months of nude shootings. We have taken to doing them indoors using just tungsten light with the ISO set anything up to 6400 ISO, something that you can do with the latest generation of cameras. Sure the noise softens the image but you don't have to do as much work hiding skin defects.

Mostly I've shot with the D800 + 24-120 but when I went to Prague I just took the D7100 + 18-140 to save weight. I'm finding that the results from the D7100 are easier to work with. The extra depth-of-field means that I can work at f4 rather than at f5.6 on the D800.

Thanks Charles. I might just add the lowly cheap Nikon 55-200 VR to my "keep it light and simple" gear. On a nice bright sunny day that extra reach might come in handy.

I wouldn't go for the 55-200 if I were you. All the versions I've seen were lightweight constructions with a plastic mount that feels crummy after the massive 16-85.

You already have the 70-300 which is fairly light but still feels pretty good. Keep it simple means sticking with that.

I had a Sigma 55-200 for a while. The optics were fine, it seemed better built than the Nikon version but still when I zoomed it felt like I was moving plastic against plastic.
