Canon HF 100 - Where & How Much?

Greetings All,

First visit to the forum. I am technically challenged and need a little help. I read reviews for a couple hours on various camcorders and have landed on the HF 100.

Prices and packages have been all over the board. A lot in the packages seems to be more fluff than value. All I *think* I need out of the gate is a long life battery and a high memory stick. I'll probably only use the camera a couple times per month.

Any other accessories a must??

Where to buy??

I got excited about 2 vendors, but upon a little research into them specifically, found numerous "scam"..."bait & switch", etc. complaints. One of which led me here.

I need to get good bang for the buck, but really don't want to role the dice with a shady vendor.

Any help you can give would be appreciated. Package or a la carte.
