    Anyone use Pictureline?
    Has anyone used Pictureline for an international purchase? US prices are pretty good compared to the local ones even allowing for the shipping. Adorama seems to have a high rating. Any experiences good or bad with either?
    Thanks

    You're talking about Pictureline in Salt Lake City? They're my local pro dealer and I shop there all the time. I've never ordered from them online. But their prices are pretty good and they are very, very professional. I've spent a few thousand in the store in the past year and I've yet to have any bad experience. I gave them two thumbs up!

    To echo what John said, assuming you are talking about www.pictureline.com, their customer service is EXCELLENT! I have shopped there for many years in person.
    Since they are in my area, I haven't ordered anything online either, but I am certain their online customer service is just as good as their in person.
    I'd give them :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

    Interesting to see a few positive comments.

    My experience was much, much different. I dropped my camera off for repair. It was repaired and the manufacturer shipped to the wrong address. Pictureline wouldn't do anything; including ignoring calls.

    I was without my camera for 10 weeks (normally 4 weeks). Couldn't work. Couldn't get answers. Couldn't get anyone to care.

    Once I threatened to get my camera (or a replacement) the hard way, my camera mysteriously appeared and they wouldn't allow me in the store to pick up.

    I assume the problem here is that Pictureline is good as long as there are no problem. However, when was the last time you purchased electronics and had zero problems.

    You're probably better off buying somewhere else.

    Good luck

    Thank you for recognizing that Canon is the reason that your camera was lost, not pictureline. We did care and tried to get your camera back from Canon as quickly as possible, but we were getting a run around from them.

    The reason that you were asked not to return to our store is that you threatened legal action for a problem that was clearly out of our control, and made our customers and employees uncomfortable with your antics. Keep in mind that you did not buy the camera from us to begin with. If you took it to the store where you bought it and had them send it in, or if you had sent it in yourself, you would have had the same problem but with a different person to threaten. It's a shame that whoever you bought it from would not send it in for you. If you had bought it from us we probably would have replaced it before it got to the point that it did.

    I live in Salt Lake City, and have purchased many items at Pictureline. Their shop is beautiful, and their staff is very professional, courteous and helpful. All of them are photographers, as far as I can tell. I have never felt pressured to buy anything, and they have often steered me toward less expensive products.
    I have never ordered on-line from them, but it is hard to imagine they would be anything less than professional, courteous and honest. They are very highly regarded by locals.
    It sounds like the dissatisfied person listed below had a frustrating experience, and that things spiraled out of control. This sounds like a very unusual circumstance, and one which would not deter me from making purchases at Pictureline.
