These are some shots from a recent shoot with one of my favorite models. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated by both of us, as I make sure she finds out what is said so that she can continue to improve as a model.

Thanks in advance,

Ken

Great shots, with my order of liking being third second and then first shot. Her strength seems to be her character and natural look and pose. Needless to say, having a photographer who knows what he's doing is needed to capture her talents and you've done well here.

Ken,

I agree with Gary on the pictures and the model. My only other minor critique is photographic and that is the second picture on the left by the models neck the background changes to blue from the orignal red and orange background. Not sure if I would have prefered this to be continued as red and orange or if its ok as it is. Its just that there is an unexpected change in backgrounds.

The thing that puts me off the first is the pole bisecting her arm and that the second hand has been chopped off, but its really that black pole that ruins it for me.

Ken - The shots are well done. I like the compositions esp with the bottom two. The top is a little confusing to me, for as ReaderR pointed out , the pole behind the arm has a distracting effect (I also wish I could see her other arm for some reason). The model is in good control of her facial expressions, and seems to be quite confident in her poses. The only other suggesion would be to watch the lighting contrast on her face, esp with the top pic. I'm not sure exactly what you could have done about it except shoot on a more subdued lit day? Maybe shooting in the shadows with a reflector (but that would require another person to help).

Nice shots. Everybody covered everything I thought of.

Good shooting,

Thanks for the comments everyone. The black pole in the first image is actually part of a light pole. I definately missed it. Ooops!

Gahspidy - Thank you for the compliment. You are right, that is definately one of her strongpoints. For someone who is only 15, I think she's got a future ahead of her.

Readingr - For the second image, there was about a foot of the red/orange tile mix on the wall by an entrance to a hair salon. The wall goes from the blue/purple to the red/orange and then back again to the blue/purple. I just couldn't get the red/orange without the blue/purple.

GB1 - I think the brightness on her face would have been taken care of with a simple filter. A little polorized action, and it would have improved the look. Lesson learned.

Jar_e - Thanks for looking, and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.

I look forward to more of your critiques in the future.

Ken
