PhotoGimp 02-22-2005, 09:31 PM OOhhhhh, I'm up here in Canada, that looks soooooooooo good right now. I have to go shovel my driveway now!!!! jar_e 02-22-2005, 09:51 PM Great shot. Lovely idea to have the umbrealla fill the whole top of the frame, good thinking and adds a great composition. Good lighting too. There are a few things that I find distracting me (the paint on the umbrella pole, the shoe under the second chair from the left, but those are minor nit picks! Great shot! I'm up here too, can you help shovel mine when you're done with yours? ;) LeeIs 02-22-2005, 10:31 PM Great shot. Jared I had to also clone some pop cans out of the foreground , the shoes were kinda complicated though, I'd have to spend some time and get them out. I I have this mixed feeling, on one hand I wish the shadow filled the foreground sands so that the further sands, water & sky could be more prominent & on the other I like how great the sand looks in the foreground. gahspidy 02-22-2005, 10:59 PM Liban, very interesting composition here for a scene like this. I don't mind the paint on the pole or the shoes, but at first I was bothered by the pole splitting the frame in half. But as i continue to view this I begin to appreciate the symetry set up here. great mood. One thing , though. The pole looks so soft , almost cartoonish. ( not in a bad way) Was there any effects, such as diffuse filter or something used in this? Goodscene LeeIs 02-22-2005, 11:54 PM I think the problem was that I applied a gradual sharpening starting from the forground to the background (in this case mistakenly upwards which included the middle and upper parts of the umbrella) I've corrected that. Thnx for you your observatioin. I've revised it and applied a tiny bit of sharpening to the image as a whole. readingr 02-23-2005, 05:31 AM Looks to hot - where are the people? just kiddin Only one thing I would change is me in the lounger with a cocktail - Purfect villenadecorte 02-23-2005, 06:35 AM Liban, Great shot. Im ready for vacation. Where was this taken? I also felt that the pole divided the frame in directly half, but then felt that it was offset by the two chairs on the left, and only one on the right, so that helped the composition greatly. I also enjoy the depth given by the two striped umbrellas, one closer in the foreground and the other not as close. Great shot, very clean, and the colors are very even and crisp! Rebekah VillenaDeCorte dadas115 02-23-2005, 10:08 AM You have captured a really pretty scene here, boy do I wish I was there right now! I like the colors a lot and the fact that there are some clouds in the sky. I think the picture might be better if the edge of the chair on the left wasn’t clipped off and if the part of the chair on the right wasn’t there. The shadow on the ground is also a bit troublesome but not too bad. Overall very nice shot. Greg Tuna 02-23-2005, 06:54 PM It's like being there. Nice job. I kind of agree about cropping out the chair on the right - but then again, I like the symmetry of the umbrella at top...that sure was a lot of help, huh? Tuna LeeIs 02-23-2005, 10:25 PM Looks to hot - where are the people? just kiddin Oh, forget to mention, I rented a giant megaphone and instructed every one to "get the hell outa my shot". lol. just kiddin of coarse. LeeIs 02-23-2005, 10:33 PM Thnx Rebekah, Greg & Tuna. :D I've tried cropping the right out but it just didn't give the feeling of being under umbrella and looking out as this one does. Tuna, you're such a flip flopper :P :) Edit: by the way, this is Santa Maria Beach just about an hour drive from Havana, Cuba. |
