I've gotten into a crazy phase with my photography. I wanted to make some Irises look more dimensional and well, on a day that I was bored after painting my computer with a really cool Interference Blue peal pigment mixed with glaze medium gloss (yes, you can paint your pc, looks really cool airbrushed), I decided to use some of this glaze on pieces of highlight on the Iris. I must say, it is absolutely amazing looking! I then tried it on a snow scene I had printed on Canvas, just highlighting the snow and bits of water peeking behind the snow - I made the glaze quite sheer for this and didn't use much pigment, and i'm thrilled with the results. The pigment comes in several different pearl shades if you ever want to experiment. The photos I experimented on were some that I liked but didn't love, and loved after the experiment. So there you go - mixing Art and Photography - literally!

I also did a really crazy piece last year called The Haunted Window where I photocopied myself onto 11x17 paper in my mimics of different horror movie screamers. I then used charcoal to enhance it and built my window frame. It looked like it came from a haunted house and I used plexiglass for the window. I uploaded a picture of it but i'll be damned if I can find it! If I do, i'll post it. Who knows, it may inspire some more craziness! I haven't quite figured out what kind of medium I would call this type of piece. Hum.

I think I remember your window. You posted it sometime around September, I think ... it was soon after I joined here.

I was told at an art show this piece would be in the gothic art category! lol I suppose that is because it was inspired by horror movies. I was told by a few people I was warped! Thought that was a little rude - it actually started out because I was bored waiting for something to print at my office and photocopied something, saw there was whiteout on the glass, bent over to scrape it off and my boob hit the copy button and I was photocopied! lmao So there, that is what started the photocopying myself and led to photocopying myself to mimic horror movies! Total boredom. Sometimes that is all the inspiration you need! And yes, it was quite fun! Much more entertaining than stairing at a printer!
