Shot with Canon 20D and EF100-400 ISO 400 1/500 f11

Taken at Ho'okipa, Maui. Just out playing around taking some pictures of windsurfers and surfers. I am a semi-serious hobbiest and just working on my technique.

Not sure if this is the correct size to post in- please let me know if it needs to be larger.
Looking forward to your comments!
Mahalo,
Dave

Great shot Dave. The thing I'm really liking in this pic is the color of the water in the foreground. That nice, light blue. Very nice. Great shot and welcome to the boards!!

Great capture, Dave!

A 1/4 crop off the bottom and a 1/5 crop off either side helps compose the shot to the basics without losing the drama. Also, an "S" curves adjustment improves the overall contrast and presentation of the image. I hope you don't mind my posting a version for comparison - if you do, please let me know and I will remove my post from this thread.

no not at all Tuna- thank you for the advice! It is alot easier to post corrections than writing it all out.

Cool shot. It's good to see some other surf photogs out there. That water is reeealy blue. You guys are lucky that you can trunk it all year round. We can't.

What I would give to jump in that water right now!
Jumping in a snow drift just doesn't have the same appeal.(note my location)

It's suppose to be BIG today too- plan on packing up and heading down to a couple other spots! Here is another one for you:

Honolua Bay, Maui, Tuesday

I just am fooling around with this at the moment, but everyone who sees me taking photo's of them has been asking for copies so I post alot of my work on my website and then they can download it or order prints through dotphoto. I just got tired of doing this for free so I charge about $15 a photo. Nothing spectacular- just wanted to make some extra cash to help finance new equipment.

You can see everything at http://www.808action.com. I am just a semi-serious hobbiest- just trying to pay for another 'L' Lense! ;) Hopefully, one of these guys will see an awesome pic of them getting barrelled and help finance my hobby!

Another great shot. The thing that really appeals to me about this one is the elevated shot you got and looking down on them.

Great composition,

Jared
