View Full Version : Early Morning over the Inlet philmony 01-28-2005, 11:14 AM Took a few shots over the inlet on my early morning commute - did not see the ducks until I uploaded to pc later ... :) JK_Photo 01-28-2005, 12:04 PM I love the colour in here, but it begs for panoramic! The expanses at the top and bottom detract from the image as a whole. The mainfocus/subject is that wonderful curving boardwalk. Where is it I want to go there? I've done a quick crop and a bit of cloning to show what I mean. philmony 01-28-2005, 12:36 PM Great crop - thanks for the advice - I'm relatively new in photography - I pride myself (though) in being able to recognize the moment that 'begs' for a pic to be taken ... :) - and the curvy boardwalk (just looking at it - even though I know exactly where it goes) sparked the same message for me - where does it go?? You have shared a new tecnique with me - panoramic - never really thought of it until now ... thx Phil I love the colour in here, but it begs for panoramic! I am on a laptop...never know what visual discombobulating fantasies you may receive there! As warm a fantasy as gold http://forums.photographyreview.com/showthread.php?t=8559 is. (Sorry had to plug my current love.) This is the opposite spectrum appeal. Maybe I need to get out more. (Ha!) What a moody feeling I get here. I can't tell about the "ducks". I see some things in the water, maybe this is my visual, but who cares!? They look a bit odd, on my screen...but I'm not drawn to them. Ok, the lighting and moodiness is fabulous. I do like the crops...maybe not as extremely pan...but a little off the distracting tree branches...and this coming from the set against the dead center horizontal FRU! Keep em' coming! ShotsbyScott 01-28-2005, 12:56 PM Nice shot Philmony! And I also like he crop by JK. I wonder what it would look like with the other twigs and the stumps cloned out on this side of the walk. Oh well. I hope you don't mind. thanks, Scott CB Photo 01-28-2005, 01:13 PM Great job, I love the blue. philmony 01-28-2005, 01:24 PM Hi BamaFru - Yup, that blue is for real - no touching up or play with white balance at all (shot on automatic white balance) - altho I did shoot 2 others white-balanced against grey - nice pics but it detracted from the mood - so it got cut I love your gold pic - def. a poster shot ... great work I have also (lately) done a bit of work with 'light' painting - not landscape stuff but just of various people (portraits) against deep colored backgrounds - as soon as I have an acceptable pic I will post it. Phil ps - the ducks only become distinct when looking at the pic full res. 2272 x 1704 - I guess thats why I missed em ;) Oooooooooooooh. How blue is this?! Is this for real? BamaFru 01-29-2005, 06:16 AM "I love your gold pic - def. a poster shot ... great work" Oh how I wish I could call that my own! Alas it belongs to JK. :( Anyway, keep em coming! Eagle_Eye 01-29-2005, 10:37 AM I really like the blue color here. As far cropping and cloning, ShotsbyScott has my vote. Congratulations on being there at the right time. Dudley |
