I'm thinking about purchasing the QTVR mirror lens from Kaidan. (I need to do 360 degree panoramics for real estate client.) I've shot panoramics w/ my Canon G1 with okay results, but the process is time consuming and the stitiching not always perfect. The 360 VR one would allow me to get the panoramic in one shot and make my workflow much more efficient.... assuming it works as advertised.

Has anyone bought/tried one of these? If so would you reccommend it and is it worth $750 plus the $200 SLR bracket I'll need?

Thanks & Happy new year,
Steve

I thought that sounded a bit too easy to be true. It doesn't do it in 'one shot' - and if it did, you would have to be atop the tallest surrounding object in order to do so. Check out this pair of tutorials on Kaidan's site:

You should be able to accomplish smoothly stitchable 360 panoramics with most any normal lens - by using a good Tripod, along with a good Level, and paying attention to the details.

According to this product:

http://www.kaidan.com/Detail.bok?no=101

you can do it in one shot...

Hmmm......well, that's certainly 'different'. And it might even work.

I believe I'll hang onto my tripod and level, though.
