Took this shot while doing some fieldwork at Macraes Flat - a cold, windwept, nearly treeless area of tussock and rocky tors. Rabbits (like most introduced mammals - and nearly all mammals are introduced here) are a major pest in New Zealand, causing widespread ecological and economic damage.
Often when rabbits are shot they are strung up on fences - the hope is that the carcasses will serve as a 'warning' to other rabbits, and they will stay clear of the area to avoid a similar fate!
Anyway I increased the contrast a bit on this one to give it a darker, more sinister feel - am considering adding some grainy texture as well?

Dear Jack,

Incredible contrast! Very stark. I must say that I find the intensity of the photo quite appealing, the dark trees, the dead rabbits, etc. Very nice composition too. I would keep it plain, no grain. It is very moody as it is, and the grain would only serve, as I see it, to hamper the enjoyment of the starkness of the photo. Great shot!

P.S. By the way, what kind of film (if any), and settings?

No film - I am too poor (student!) in money to pay for all the development, and too poor in time to do it myself
My camera is only a point-and-shoot digital too so no settings sorry :(
Thanks for the confidence boost too :)

Dear Jack,

Glad I could encourage you in your photographic pursuits. I find it all the more impressive that you can produce great pictures with just a point-and-shoot :D . Keep up the good work!
