Hi,

I have a Canon A70 camera. I want to recover the deleted images in the CF Card of the camera. I have tried many of the available programs for this purpose but when I connect the camera to the computer via the USB port, the programs do not detect the Memory Card - all of them require the camera to be detected as a drive ( letter) on the computer ( such as C: , A: , D:, etc) .

Is there any way that you know that I can make the camera appear as a drive/removable media on the computer.

Thanks in advance for all replies/comments

usually when you hook up your camera to your computer, it creates a temporary drive automatically.

hook up your camera, turn it on and then open windows explorer and you should see the temporary drive in your list of available drives (i.e. C:, D: whatever).

once you see that, you can double click on it and then look at the contents that are on the stick. I do this rather than using the software that came with the camera as its faster and easier for me to navigate through etc...

you can delete files from it just like you would off of your computer.

just make sure to go to the bottom right corner of your screen where you see all the little icons (thats your system tray) and you should see an arrow that you can click on to release the camera from the system. Just double click it, and then you will see your cameras name there, highlight it and select "close". It will then give you a ballon at the bottom right of your screen telling you its now safe to remove your camera, blah blah.
