I took this picture this past Sunday morning. I usually only find them hiding in the grass unless it is spring time but for some reason this one decided that the fence post was a better place to be.

Congrats! I absolutely love the blurred BG and its earthy colors.

My only (very little) regret is that there is no spark of life in the bird's eye. A little bit of flash maybe?. The pole is also a bit overexposed and can draw the viewer's attention away from the bird. However, this is nothing that PS cannot cope with.

Cheers,

Steph.

I meant the left-est part of the pole! Actually, I just had a look on another cathodic screen and it looked fine. My LCD screen tends to increase the contrast a bit too much!

This is very (very) sharp! Would you mind letting us know of the details of the equipment you used for this shot?

I personally like a bit depth in the background even if it was blurred by long lenses, otherwise bg would seem unreal. Well done!

Greg, this is incredibly sharp. I think the bg just makes the bird pop out. wow, what a lens you must have. Hand held? omg..that's amazing. A gorgeous photo.

Excellent photo. Nice and sharp, and the DOF is almost perfect. I wouldn't change a thing.
