I use mainly Velvia 50 and Provia 100. Both have their limits. Velvia isn't too good with skin tones, while Provia 100F goes to the blue side in low light situations. I am looking for a slide film that gives decent results in low light. The reviews at this site leave me even more confused. All suggestions gratefully accepted.

100F is always blue :)

81B warming filter and 400F even rated 3200 and pushed 3 stops!!!!!!!

but be aware that 3 stop push is beyond most labs and costs $$$(i shot 12 rolls @3200 and developed myself)

yes they do... and EKTACHROME does a good job depending on the version and subject.

but the thing i never understood was....... what is 200asa film......pointless speed to make in my opinion :)

E200 has good neutral color and might be a good choice for people shots, but I never liked the grain in it. Provia 400F is my choice here - sure it's going to be a little blue in low light, but you'll have a hard time telling the difference with 100F if you try them side by side. I've pushed it to 800 with good results too, but never 3200! Provia 400F is a pretty expensive film and push processing makes it even more so, but there aren't a lot of good choices.

I agree with the respondent who classified IOS 200 as a semi-useless product. I tried Provia 400F a few months back and was lukewarm on the results. I guess I'll just have to give it a better test.

The biggest thing that I got out of your posts was that there apparently isn't much true quality out there in a higher speed. I guess that with digital taking more and more of the market, there is no pressure on the manufacturers to create new and improved products either.
