I am planning on getting a dvd burner to burn my edited movies.
What I need is a burner that burns a DVD that is playable by MOST dvd players out there.
I don't care much about the speed the dvdrw burns.

I am looking at one of the Lite-On dvdrw at http://www.newegg.com/app/SearchProductRes...ubmit=Go&DEPA=0 (http://www.newegg.com/app/searchProductResult.asp?Submit=Go&Range=1&DEPA=0&bop=and&description=dvdrw&InnerManu=1336) but I have no idea which to choose. I can't distinguish one from another.

Help? Suggestions?

I don't really know much about specific brands but i think the - format is the most prevalent. also i hear that certain single layer dvd burners can be turned into dual layer burners with the right firmware.

Look at the pioneer line of drives. The A07 gets great reviews and can burn DVD+r/rw and DVD-r/rw

This is a tough decision between the Lite-On and the NEC.
Maybe I should hold on a little longer since dual layer writers are still in their early stage.
