Last year, my wife submitted a question to a peer reviewed medical journal. A few months ago, she got a letter saying that her question had been selected to be published. Two nights ago, while catching up on her reading, she came across that article.
The article appeared in the March 2008 edition of Consultant Magazine for Pediatrians. It is on page 200, and has my photo of a woman's chest :-) (OK her neck and upper chest) and Dawn's question regarding a rash.
It was interesting getting co-published with my wife.
The photo is below.

Always helps to hitch your wagon to a shooting star. I've ridden on Joy coat tails more times than you can image. A smart wife can be a life saver sometimes. In our case Speed smart and beautiful.
I've been shooting editorial for my wife since we met undergrad in 1978. Way to go Speed. Looks like we both married above our pay grade. Have you guys done any diving yet? I'm just getting ready to help start replacing mooring bouys in Biscayne National Park.

A fungal infection - like atheletes foot.
Go figure.

Absolutely!!!
I'll take it anyway I can get it.
It was cool being co-published though.
Thanks for the comments OT!

Yep. My wife is a Nurse Practitioner. She works in pediatrics, but some things are common among kids and adults. Just include a photo and a description of your ailment and we'll see if she can figure it out.

Aah yeah. I know them well.
Whenever the kids get anything, hubby asks me why I even bother to take them to the doctor because my diagnosis usually the correct one :D There are times when I'm not quite sure though.

Dawn says she has learned to trust mothers instincts. More than once she's looked at a kid that looked fine, and the mother would say "I think they have strep". She'd run a strep test, and sure enough, they had it.
It doesn' make you a doctor, but a mother's intuition should not be ignored!
