An old abandoned car exposed in a recently burned down field.

I like it. It reminds me of a post-apocalypse movie. I would have liked a larger depth of focus, my eyes keep wanting to focus on the car.

A welcome and very unusual take on an old rust bucket. The part in focus looks almost detached from the main body; almost as if it is part of a different vehicle. The old body is not just forming an out of focus subservient background but is as equally strong to my eye as is the coroded door. The colouring is also strange with a pinkish cast on the metalwork.
On my new and recently calibrated monitor I am barely seeing little detail in the interior. Is that an accurate observation Gary? I would like to see some more from the inside.
This is interesting and unusual, not really easy on the eye but then again does it have to be.

This is a very odd looking picture, it really made me stop and take a second look. I think you need a bigger DOF, but I think that is the only negative I can come up with bravo.

Gary,
I really like the textures in the door and the DOF is night on perfect for me. My only nit pick is the shades of grey banding on the top of the photo, which seems to have some form of banding to it and therefore giving it an odd effect. It also looks disjointed by the door pillar.
It could be cloud or it could be cloud or smog from the burning but it just looks weired. I think the lines in the banding are too defined and need a touch of softening.

Gary, I think this is a great angle and the DOF really works. The only nit pick I see would be to clone the blade of grass just to the right of the door, But it is a nit pick and others may have a different view. awesome work as always. You seem to come up with different angles and ideas that always pay off. Now, Cutlass, Regal?
Hmmm.
Tricky use of DOF and contrast. It has the elements of a dramatic shot, like an old western movie before a big gunfight (don't know why I get that feeling..). The issue I see with it is that you're drawing attention to a particular area, the front left, and it has great supporting stuff in the background, but, there is no real subject. If only........

Thanks for the comments.
Yeah, this is certainly unconventional and maybe a bit weird in composition and pp. I liked the sort of strange and almost cartoonish appearance.
Tom, there is no detail to be seen inside so your monitor is seeing it as I do there. Also, the metal does sort of have a pinkish/orange tone to it.
I wanted a dark interior to set off the focal point door. Sort of a dark bg for it to pop as I wished.
Greg, good point about the grass blade next to the door. . .that can go for sure. Only adds a distraction. the green that i was interested in is on the left Actually, I'm not sure what it was but I think it is/was a coupe DeVille.
Roger, I agree about your suggestions for the lines in the sky. they are actually wisps of clouds that because of the composition and pp come off looking strange .Did not notice it beofre but I think a softening of the lines would be good as you suggest.
Joshua, Tom, Chris, Roger, Greg, and GB1 thanks for your thoughts.
