View Full Version : AMA 2008 Barber Motorsports Park Lori11 04-23-2008, 10:41 AM I survived the 4 days and now I am up to my eyeballs in photos (boy Brad, you missed it!) The racing and weather was beyond perfect. Here are a few from Sunday wull 04-23-2008, 10:48 AM Great pics Lori. The 1st one is a cracker Lori11 04-23-2008, 11:02 AM Thanks! :D I got the whole series of that from start to finish, he won the race also for that class (Aaron Yates) Photo-John 04-23-2008, 11:48 AM That first one is sweet! Love how he's looking right at you. I like the body language of the second rider in the third one but it's really too soft. Focus is so critical in sports photos. I just came back from an event myself (Sea Otter Classic (http://seaotter.mtbr.com/2008/04/21/2008-sea-otter-pro-mens-cross-country/)) and I am very, very hard on myself when it comes to focus. You have to detach yourself emotionally and be super critical. Quality control is very important. I throw out tons of photos that I want to use because the focus is off. Lori11 04-23-2008, 11:56 AM Thats his riding style, his nickname is "elbows" he started out on motocross lol. The pic is soft but I like it because they ride for the same team but are rivals to the "nth" degree lol Thanks for the advice! ( I have dumped 100's from the 4 day event already lol) Mat Mladin (#6) won btw, of course I pull for Ben Spies aka Elbows lol BFiredup 04-23-2008, 02:23 PM Love the first shot.....the colors are so vibrant....the other photos are wonderful too....but don't grab you like the first one..... wwwon 04-23-2008, 02:44 PM Really nice shots, especially #1. Those Jordan bikes aways look good. I am a big Spies fan also. I am hoping to drive down from Canada to see him race at Indy. Keep posting the racing shots, they are great. SmartWombat 04-23-2008, 02:44 PM The first shot looks also the only one shot in cloudless sunlight - see the shadow? There's no substitute for good lighting, even if you are a PS wizard. racedraper 04-23-2008, 07:45 PM One of these days I will be in your league as in quality and the pure wow factor. Have any Nicky Hayden? Jimmy B 04-23-2008, 09:54 PM Lori, I have been waiting to see your shots since seeing the highlight show with coverage from these races Sunday. #1 is a kick butt shot! Nice work. Jimmy B Lori11 04-29-2008, 05:53 AM I am finally not working so I will post some more, thanks everyone! I took a zillion photo's I think, deleted half a zillion lol ( I dont have photo shop so the editing is a challange, I am assuming thats what PS is  ) Jimmy it was great racing! Nicky didnt race, Roger Lee did but got squished and Tommy raced. I will post some :) brmill26 05-03-2008, 11:40 AM Lori - these are awesome! Sorry I've been MIA all week... stupid finals have been taking over my life! I know why you posted that last one of Spies/Mladin; soft or not that captures the different riding styles and dead-heat competition b/t the two. The first one is my favorite though... classic Yates. Lori11 05-05-2008, 06:19 AM Thanks! Hope the exams went well too! Grand AM is next :) Jimmy, I have some posted on my site from the races feel free to take a peek, I will be putting Sundays races up this week. |
