Think this is a Grey morph version of a ruffed Grouse. he was really drumming up a storm for the lady's . I could not catch any of the drumming in a photo as i did not have enough light to stop his wing movement.:)

Thanks for taking the time Loupey, They kinda run away fast and as a last resort to escape they can take flight right in the middle of very thick bush.
