I have a Canon 30D and I also have a 0.45X Wide Angle lens with Macro. I dont understand the Macro part, do I need an adaper to use it seperatly? It fits over the Wide Angle but Im lost as to it's purpose  I tried to figure it out on my own...worked well huh? lol Thanks in advance!

The way I understand is, these wide angle lenses are designed to be attached to an existing lens, to widen the angle. In other words, if you attach it to a 50mm lens. you should be shooting at 50 X .45 for an effective range of 22.5mm. However, these cheap lenses are really designed for cheap point and shoots cameras. I don't think they work worth a diddly on good quality lenses.

If I'm wrong, someone can correct me. Although, I don't know of any serious shooter that would use one of these lenses.

So far not much is useless, it has what I need, mainly the camera :D
My question was what is or does Macro mean? They are 2 seperat lenses ( the wide and macro) and even if I dont use it, I want to know what it is lol

OK, maybe not quite worthless, but items you'll definitely upgrade to better quality in the future. Macro is for closeup work, such as photos of insects and flowers, etc. Most shooters opt for a true macro lens, such as the Canon 100mm. Others will go with extension tubes. The longer the macro lens, the farther from the subject you can be to obtain the 1:1 ratio. I do not have one at this time, but am tempted. :D
