That's scary!! Logically we know there's glass there but my vision sees it without except for where the boys hands are pressed against it.

I like it! I would crop the end out where the glass frame is on the left just to give it the effect that its not there! :D

I wish you had been able to shoot from a lower angle.

I see this as a standard zoo animal snapshot with no element within the scope of the image, people or tiger, that would cause me to take notice. If a critique requires a suggestion on how it could be better, I would recommend capturing an image of one in the wild for, at least, that would have taken some effort.

Frog / Lori - Here's a crop. I wish the glass was even more transparent and that some grass covered up the lower glass frame, so that the elimination of the side frame area would take the glass totally away.

MB - Yep, would have been nice if there were multiple viewpoints. The EP zoo was relatively small and had very limited angles. I was hoping that tiger would look at them and growl or something ... waited 5+ minutes. He never did.

Tuna - Strange comment ... I think maybe you miss your buddy Ronnoco! Capturing one in the wild that would at least take some effort, eh..? You pay for the trip to India, I photograph. In the meanwhile, I guess I'll have to settle for zoo shots. :) :cryin: Sorry if it bores ya.. hang in there, Tuna. :p

Cool shot, I do kind of wish the Tiger was showing more "interest" in them..... or looking at you.

I agree with Chow, if the Tiger was looking at you or them it would be a much more interesting shot. but hey its still a cool shot. Good Job

Hey Chow, Army - Thanks for taking a look. I actually sat there for ~ 5-10 minutes waiting for that very thing: I wanted the tiger to be looking at them and vice versa. Alas the tiger was just too used to gawking humans :) .. he never turned once. I even walked over there and tapped on the glass (which they ask you not to do) and he still wouldn't turn around. Booo. But at least he didn't get mad and jump the barrier on me like one did to some folks in Cali... Yikes.

Lori, yep, just a zoo shot. There's sure are a zillion of em out there, half of which I've seen in Parade magazine. :) I might go to Africa later this year to climb Kilimanjaro, maybe I'll try to squeeze in a safari too and snap some lions.

I saw that you said to go ahead and edit your images, so I started playing with this one to see if I could add a touch of "wild" to your picture.......
Let me know what you think..... I edited out the boys hand as it made it obvious that there is glass there, and I also brought the inside of the enclosure out to them to make it feel more like they were sneaking up on the Tiger....

It kind of makes it a different picture but I think that it takes a little bit of the 'zoo shot' out of it........ by the way.....I am a HUGE animal lover and so if you get that paid trip to the jungle for a 'real' tiger, I would love to go too!!! hehe

Hey Chow, I like your edit, but maybe it would look more natural if you also added the kid's right arm to be just barely visible on the side of his ribs, maybe in a hands-on-hip style. And if you really wanna get fancy, you could edit his left arm/hand so that it also doesn't touch the glass... Now that would really take away any clues to the glass being there :) (but would be a lotta work).

Animal lover eh?.. You wouldn't want to try getting too close to this kitty :D Tigers are a lot bigger and more dangerous looking in the real than in photos. I remember seeing a full sized tiger and lion next to each other at a wildlife exhibition ("Primates Plus") and was amazed how much larger the tiger was than the lion (who just wanted to sleep). I hope the Africa trip happens btw - might be a once in a lifetime experience.

hehe, yeah, I was just kind of bored last night and was playing.... I think even just the tiger alone is a good picture....

We have a place up here called Cat Tales, it is a rescue of sorts for big cats, I am anxious to go back up there and get some good kitty pics! Lions always just seem so exhausted, where tigers just seem kind of lazy. hehe
