jkriminger 03-29-2008, 04:30 PM very nice image from the down south point of view.
I like the way the color of the kite contrasts with the brilliant of the cherry tree blossoms.
Only thing not quite quite is the boys back so close to the frame.
Did anyone get their kites hung up in the trees?
Greg McCary 03-29-2008, 06:49 PM I agree with Frog. I like the colors and subject.
armywife1984 03-29-2008, 09:54 PM Love the color contrasts. Its a great shot i cant find any faults with it.

Herriot 03-30-2008, 12:43 AM This is all about contrasts which works really well, kind of wish there were fewer people and vehicles in the distance but guess you couldn't do much about that,
Grandpaw 03-30-2008, 06:33 AM I guess that I am the only one that can't see the picture. All I get is a box with a red X in it, Jeff
CanonFan 03-30-2008, 10:53 AM I like the photo a lot. The kite festival in Washington, D.C. is a great thing to attend - I did it myself many years ago.
CLKunst 03-30-2008, 01:28 PM Thanks for the wonderful responses everyone! Here is a looser crop which only reveals more cars and people. :D Of course that same place earlier in the day had been FLOODED with people as the course of the Marine Corps Marathon went right through this spot. It felt like a human river!

readingr 03-30-2008, 02:30 PM Nicely captured. I like the way the kite is being prepared showing family life and the picnic hamper adds an extra something.
Lovely

Cindy - It has all the right elements, but it seems more like a scattering of different things than a coherent photo with theme. The main guy and kite being centered like that bothers me a bit. The kid's almost out of the scene. Call it a 5/10. -GB

Thanks for checking it out GB, did you feel that way about the edited version with the different crop too or did I address the problem?

Thanks Roger! I appreciate your taking the time to comment. It's great to see you're on the boards again; I have missed you. :)
Just looking at the crop: I think it's better, but still a lot, lot of stuff happening. Seems like everyone's ignoring you ... :)
