ChowChi-Ching 03-28-2008, 03:08 PM I think it is pretty good but maybe some motion blur would have given more the detail of movement.... It also seems a little washed out, maybe a bump in contrast and saturation? lemon 03-28-2008, 03:29 PM I think it is pretty good but maybe some motion blur would have given more the detail of movement.... It also seems a little washed out, maybe a bump in contrast and saturation? Yeah, I'd already washed it out a little because of the overhead sun added a lot of contrast, but I think you're right. I also like the idea of motion blur, but the I would've lost the peleton off in the distance. A tradeoff, I guess. Ptax 03-28-2008, 03:57 PM The question in my head (and this has nothing to do with the shot) is whether this guy is way ahead, or way behind. Hmmmm. . . brmill26 03-28-2008, 09:07 PM Since there's not much going on elsewhere in the photo, I'd use a tighter crop. Also, from a technical standpoint, the light is behind the rider, making his face dark. BTW, good to have another B'ham photog on the board. I'm in Hoover. I shoot bikes at Barber a good bit, but they usually have motors in them :) CanonFan 03-29-2008, 05:19 AM I also would like to see a bit of motion blur. The racers in the background are already out of focus - I don't think they would suffer too much in the process. lemon 03-29-2008, 06:22 AM Since there's not much going on elsewhere in the photo, I'd use a tighter crop. Drove down from Memphis for the race and this guy was riding in the race after mine. Len J 03-29-2008, 06:22 PM I think the crop idea would "Tighten" the shot. might want to try some localized lighting on the face .....see if you can bring out some detail. Len |
