I picked up a G9 from B$H and for the life of me...I don,t know why it has a somewhat of a bad rap.. In fact it was the not so favorable reviews that kept me from picking one up a long time ago...Anyway, I picked one up and was disappointed...Kicking myself...''KICKING MYSELF FOR ''NOT'' getting it sooner....I love it....

Where did you see unfavorable reviews? Did you read my G9 review?

I think it's a sweet camera. It's just too big for me. I bought the SD950 IS because I wanted a pocket camera. But the G9 is a wonderful camera with almost DSLR image quality if you can keep the ISO down.
Hope you enjoy it. Please post a review for it after you've had it for a few weeks. We need more reviews for the G9.

John, it was your review and Liz's images that convinced me to get it. I will pm you the links to those other places...I do wish it was a tad smaller, but it still does fit in my shirt pocket. Barely, but it does...
So far I really like it. Infact, I really love the fact that aside from the manual controls, it saves 2 custom settings...This little feature is very important to me...

Yeah, if you keep the ISO down.
ISO800 + is disappointing.
It's slow too on ordinary SD cards, I have to go buy some high speed cards.
Congratulations Javier! I'm glad you finally took the plunge. Good decision IMO! I think the more you use the G9 the more you'll like it. I just love using it. It's just the right size for me too. I don't like really small cameras - and this just fits in my hands nicely.
Nice shots - keep posting those pics.
BTW, if you use the flash indoors, be sure the Safety FE is ON - it works much better.

SW, You bring up an excellent point. So there is actually a difference with High Speed SD cards? If so, I will, pick one up.
Liz, Thanks for the tip on the flash and than you for your patience while I ''grilled you.''.... :)
