View Full Version : The time has come!!!!!
jorgemonkey 03-22-2008, 06:41 PM Well, I've spent the last day & a half at the hospital, and due to complications they've decided to induce my wife, so hopefully by Sunday I'll finally get a chance to see my baby boy
I got a chance to sneak home for a few minutes to shower & change clothes (I love living 2 miles from the hospital!), so I probably won't post again until I get home sunday/monday. As of now, mom, baby inside mom, and dad are doing well, and we're hoping she'll start going into labor tonite.
Of course they'll be tons of photos once I get a chance to post again once we get home & settled.
RMullen99 03-22-2008, 06:58 PM Good Luck!
My prayers that all continues to go well and we'll see some shots of a beautiful baby soon.
rylan 03-22-2008, 07:29 PM hopefully everything goes great !
all the best
Alison 03-22-2008, 08:08 PM Yay! Hope all goes well and can't wait to see some pics!!!
Personally, I'm starting to pace back and forth.
Alison 03-24-2008, 07:53 AM Scott!!! How's it going?!!!
jorgemonkey 03-25-2008, 08:08 AM Sorry for the long wait in a reply, I've been waiting for the suspense to build :)
jk
I'm only home for a few minutes, so a quick update, more to follow (like the photos!)
My wife went in for her normal checkup on Friday, and she had high blood pressure & high protein count, which means she has pre-clampsia (sic for sure!), aka there is a possibility she could have a seizure, and the only way to get rid of it was by giving birth. So they induced her, and due to the medications she was getting was confined to a bed pretty much the entire time.
Not much happened between 5pm friday and late sunday night. Sunday morning she started having regular contractions, and progressed a little bit. Then in about 45 minutes, she went from 2 fingers dialated to, "ok, its time to push NOW". Her mom arrived just in time to see her push twice, then we both watched as the baby's heartrate dropped from 150bpm to about 60bpm, and she was rushed out of the room for an emergency C-section.
So Adam Keith was born Sunday at 2:38pm, weighing in at 5 lbs, 11 oz, and 19 1/2 in long. Baby, Mom, & Dad are exhausted (well, Mom & Dad are!) and everyone is doing well. We are scheduled to go home Wed morning, which we both can't wait for since we've been stuck in the hospital for 5 days already.
Photos to come when I have a chance to upload some, but I've gotta shower & head back to the hospital.

Uhm.....don't go thinking you can get some rest now or for the next few months.
The baby look like to be a fine young man and tell your wife she couldn't be more beautiful if she tried.
jorgemonkey 03-26-2008, 10:59 AM Well, we are finally home and are excited/tired all at once. The grandparents are coming over in a little while to hang out & help us with anything we need. Its nice having them live literally 5 mins away.
Thanks for all the comments, my Wife & I both appreciate them. And yes, she has threatened to kill me over that last photo
Our baby has already shown that if he sleeps through the day, then he'll be up all night. We've both gotten little sleep the past two nights, but we've already worked out our schedule of when each of us wakes up to take care of him.
More photos (obviously!) to come after we get settled in & relaxed.
