I'll post a few images shot with the P&S while we were on a week long bike tour.

BTW it was great to get away from the winter and ride into spring.

I had my feet on the ground when I took this one.

I like the placement of the rider on the right and tree branches coming down into the left frame. It looks a tad dark . . .did you underexpose this in trying to reduce blowout in the sky? I do that sometime when I know a sky will burn out in it's brightest areas and it is easier to recover some detail in shadows later. I think you can crop this a bit. Horizon is very close to center and the extra fg is not really adding. When I crop alot of the fg up to the rider and then some off the left it brings the subject up closer and brings the horizon line down away from center.
I do like this as it is, but I think the crop can improve.
Whats This!? The master cropper does not crop his own images? lol Like the shoemaker who fixes everyones shoes but walks around with holes in his own soles. . .or the auto mechanic who drives the jalopy.

No, that thing is cropped bigtime. There was a lot more foreground but I planned to print/show it as a panoramic crop as you see here. My intent was to get the cyclist (my wife) and the kayaker in the bottom third sweet spot which I more or less did.

Any more off the bottom and the image starts to look really top heavy although I go agree that the foreground is the least interesting part of the image.

Nice Pic....

I'd crop more of the foreground..maybe to the bottom of the brown patch on the right. I'd also tweek the contrast a little.

Nice capture ...especially from a P & S.

IMO, this photo has good colors though, MB1, just like many of yours.
